Nigerian music mogul Michael Ajereh, widely known as Don Jazzy, has sparked conversation with his candid remarks about love and monogamy during a recent appearance on The Nancy Isime Show.

The 42-year-old Mavin Records boss, who has never been married, admitted that one of the key reasons for his continued bachelorhood is his personal struggle with sexual exclusivity.

“I don’t believe that I am strong enough to be with only one person,” Don Jazzy said. “I won’t lie to someone just to keep them in a relationship. If I’m dating you, I won’t pretend you’re the only person I admire.”

The producer and entrepreneur explained that while some individuals are capable of full sexual commitment when emotionally invested, he finds that physical attraction to others doesn’t simply disappear—even in committed relationships. “Just because you’re a beautiful woman doesn’t mean I won’t notice that another woman is beautiful too,” he added.

Don Jazzy acknowledged that his honesty might drive potential partners away, but insisted that transparency is more important to him than societal expectations.

His comments come just days after fellow music star 2Baba faced backlash for making similar claims about male fidelity. The African Queen singer later issued a public apology on Instagram, admitting his choice of words had been insensitive and disrespectful, especially to his wife, Annie Idibia.

2Baba said in his apology: “I know I have messed up with what I said. I’m going to face the consequences… I own up to my mistake.”

While Don Jazzy’s remarks have not drawn the same level of controversy—at least not yet—they add to an ongoing conversation about modern relationships, fidelity, and the pressures of public honesty. Whether seen as refreshing openness or controversial candour, his comments have once again placed him at the centre of cultural debate around love and commitment in the entertainment industry.
