The end appears yet not in sight in the May 20, 2024 alleged 'embarassing' shaving of ex Super Eagles forward, Uche Nwofor's dreadlocks by officers of the Nigerian army in Onitsha, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Nwofor represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil having also represented the country at the U20s level.

But the forward felt 'humiliated', 'dehumanised', 'embarrassed', 'ridiculed' and 'disgraced' by the military officers action despite him identifying and explaining himself to them.

"For several weeks, I locked myself indoors, asked of myself over the public ridicule that I was subjected", Nwofor lamented.

Now, a human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, feels for the footballer who served his country, brought immeasurable honour and glory to his fatherland to be so 'disgraced.

Inibehe had first petitioned Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, on the matter, urging the Army boss to diligently investigate matter with a view to sanctioning the culprits.

And in a move that's suggestive of matching words with action, Inibehe Effiong is set for legal fireworks with the Army in the court in a bid to ensure justice was served in the matter.

"The lawyer has since taken up the matter and is determined to take the case to court', Nwofor told Exclusivenews.com.ng in Onitsha.

"Yes, several people or groups have stepped into this case, including Players Union BOT Chairman and FIFA, but the lawyer is handling it.

"For me, I find it disgusting why I was so treated, with my professional trademark publicly dismantled without respect and for no just reason, subjecting me to public shame and embarrassment", the dark-skinned striker lamented
