Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has shared how the late mother of Funke Akindele once stepped in to save her children.

 

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has recounted an emotional experience involving the late mother of her colleague, Funke Akindele, describing how the woman’s timely intervention helped save the lives of her children, Festus and Priscilla.

 

Naija News reports that Iyabo made the revelation in a heartfelt Instagram post, where she reflected on the support she received years ago while raising her children as a single mother. According to her, Funke Akindele’s late mother, who was a medical doctor, played a crucial role during a frightening period when her children fell seriously ill.

 

Iyabo described the late doctor as an exceptional professional whose compassion extended far beyond the hospital, noting that her care and prayers prevented what could have turned into a tragedy.

 

Recalling the incident, the actress said she feared she might lose both children, but the doctor firmly reassured her otherwise. “I thought I’d lose them both, but she said, ‘No. Not on my watch,’” Iyabo wrote.

 

She further praised the late woman for her spiritual strength, describing her as not only a great doctor but also a powerful prayer warrior. Iyabo revealed that even during periods when she and Funke Akindele were at odds, the doctor never withdrew her support.

 

Despite disagreements between the two actresses at the time, Iyabo said Funke’s mother continued to check on her, pray for her, and offer words of reassurance and unity. She recalled how the late doctor often encouraged peace, insisting that conflicts would eventually be resolved and affirming her love for everyone involved.

 

“She was indeed a mother to all,” Iyabo wrote, adding that she would always cherish the love, guidance, and prayers she received from her.

 

The actress ended her tribute by expressing enduring love and praying for the peaceful rest of Funke Akindele’s late mother, whose legacy of kindness continues to resonate years after her passing.
