Super Falcons Coach Justin Madugu has revealed that the humid weather of Abuja has a negative effect on the players during the qualifying match against their Ethiopian counterparts.

Madugu who can as a stand in for Randy Waldrum who took the team to the 2023 Women World Cup in Australia said " we are all Nigerians, some of us  are staying here, Others are staying outside the country. For those of us staying here it's not so much of a problem but for those coming in from Europe we must put timing into consideration, because the weather is not the same and that is why we try as much as possible to give them in terms of rest".

"Because of high humidity that is why we always tell them to try to manage the game. They can't play at a high tempo all through the game. At  some point they need to slow down, keep the ball flowing try to recover some energy and then increase the tempo intermittently as the time follows. This help the girls, particularly those of them coming from across the globe".

He went further to suggest that it would be much better if the timing of subsequent matches are adjusted to the evenings. "But, where the time has already been fixed there's nothing we can do about it than to adjust to the time.  Maybe, going forward, we will look at that and it can also be addressed" he concluded.
