The former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. Orolosama Peter Amachree, has reaffirmed his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara through sustained educational initiatives.
Amachree has strengthened his school support programme, launched late last year, with another round of scholarship payments for university students and SS3 pupils.
Explaining his decision to increase the number of beneficiaries despite no longer holding office, he said:
“Last year, I had the privilege of awarding scholarships to ten outstanding students from Omuma, with each ward represented. Today, I met with them again, and I am proud of their impressive performance. To further encourage them, I have paid their tuition for this academic session and assured them of continued sponsorship until they complete their education—whether I am in office or not.
“Education is not a promise; it is a responsibility.”
Parents of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude and offered prayers for God to replenish his resources, noting that generosity requires grace and commitment.
In addition to the scholarship scheme, Rt. Hon. Amachree recently distributed over ₦140 million to supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and has continued to provide various forms of support to young people across Rivers State.
