Active political participation is essential for sustaining democracy, ensuring government accountability, and protecting individual rights. It enables citizens to influence public policy, check government excesses, and foster socioeconomic development. Active engagement through voting, activism, or advocacy prevents political instability and ensures policies reflect community needs.

The ongoing   online registration for the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State is currently active through the official party membership portal. This electronic registration (e-registration) exercise allows both new and existing members to register or revalidate their status online.

As part of their responsibility to ensure that anyone with a genuine desire for the continuation of good governance in Abia gets their labour party memberships, The Chairman Abia State Market Leaders Association Hon. Oba Moses Ibe who also doubles as the Chairman Of Eziukwu Road Market Aba, Alongside the Mayor Aba South LGA Hon. Denis Anyanwu  Obialor held a sensitization tour all through Eziukwu road market Aba, were they informed the traders of the need to join labour party so as  to actively participate in electoral processes.

Speaking to Newsmen at the sidelines of the tour, Hon. Oba Moses urged Abians especially the traders at Eziukwu road market Aba to ensure they take part in the ongoing labour party online registration so as to enable the return of Governor Otti for a second term in office come 2027.

"I want to commend  The Speaker of the State House of Assembly RT. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa and The Mayor of Aba South LGA Hon. Anyanwu Dennis Obialor for their efforts in ensuring that forms and all  necessary modalities are in place for easy registration of party members and Abians of goodwill ".

Hon. Oba Moses went further to urge Abians to also get their Permanent voters card as that's an important tool that would enable them exercise their civic right.

When asked the chances of Gov. Otti's re-election come 2027,  Hon. Oba Moses said "to be fair I think he has more than 80 percent chance of  getting re-elected come 2027. just take a look at the State now, it's nothing to be compared to the Infrastructural rot we experienced in the hands of previous governments, that alone is enough to encourage Abians to massively support and re-elect  Gov. Otti in 2027.
