After a disappointing 2-1 away loss to Shuffle Select FC, Enyimba FC Under-19 knew only a victory against Bayelsa United Under-19 would keep their hopes alive. They delivered when Henry Okere’s 80th-minute goal sealed all three points for the Young Elephants.

Speaking after the match, Coach Joseph “King Joe” Akuma expressed his delight at his team’s resilience despite Bayelsa United’s solid defense. “I’m happy we got this victory today. It wasn’t an easy game. I had to make some tactical adjustments, and that led to the winning goal,” he said.

Coach Akuma also addressed the team’s recent dip in scoring form, attributing it to fatigue from consecutive away matches. “The boys have been on the road week in, week out, and that has obviously taken a toll on them,” he explained.

Despite the challenges, Coach Akuma remains determined to guide Enyimba FC Under-19 to the National Youth League Playoffs and push for the title.
