Popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, don claim say security sources secretly inform am say his name don enter list of people wey Boko Haram allegedly plan to eliminate.

 

Gumi talk this one while he dey address members of his congregation. According to am, early one morning, person call am from Abuja after one security meeting and warn am say his name don come up for serious national security discussion.

 

“They call me from Abuja say security meeting dey,” Gumi talk. “Dem tell me say I don mark, say dem go eliminate me. And who be Boko Haram?”

 

The cleric say the caller explain say his name dey among people wey dem allegedly plan to assassinate. He question who truly dey behind terrorism for Nigeria, and even accuse the United States of playing role in the emergence of Boko Haram.

 

“Even America say dem come fight terrorists. So who be the terrorists? Na dem,” Gumi talk.

“You go hear say bomb don explode somewhere,” he add.

 

Gumi also blame former U.S. President Donald Trump, saying policies and actions wey he attribute to am worsen insecurity and division for Nigeria. According to the cleric, Nigerian leaders and religious scholars keep quiet while the country dey break apart.

 

He accuse foreign influence of spreading money and narratives wey dey oppress Nigerians and wrongly paint Christians as the only victims of insecurity, saying such stories dey cause deep division and suspicion among communities.

 

“Because of lies, una bring violence,” Gumi say. “Where the leaders? Where the scholars? Everybody don hide for their corner.”

 

The cleric argue say no sovereign country go accept foreign interference wey go divide its people along religious or social lines.

 

“Which country go agree make dem bring something just to divide their people?” he ask. “No country go accept that.”

 

Gumi further accuse political and religious elites of abandoning real dialogue, saying Nigerians don remain with only “noise” instead of solutions, while hardship, oppression and denial of rights continue to grow.

 

“You bring hardship, you break us, you oppress us, you deny us our rights,” he lament, adding say labeling parts of Nigeria by religion dey dangerous.

 

He warn say the current atmosphere of fear, silence and division dey drag Nigeria backward, and say if leaders and clerics continue to avoid responsibility, the country wahala go only worse.

 

“This na the situation we dey,” Gumi conclude. “E dey drag the country down.”
