There appears no end yet in sight for Heartland of Owerri harvest of woes in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League after the once dreaded Naze Millionaires shockingly gave away its hefty 2-0 lead in the last seven minutes of the grueling rescheduled match day eight (8) fixture against Bayelsa United at Dan Anyiam Stadium on Wednesday, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The result leaves the homesite winless in all four home games so far in the season and also with ever savouring the taste of victory in all eight games in the current campaign.

Not surprising, Heartland appear to enjoy life in their 20th Avenue Residence in the NPFL Standings.

Checks by Exclusivenews.com.ng checks reveal that Wednesday's 'no Victor, no vanquished' result was the first time Bayelsa United would snatch a point in their three visits to Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri. And they did that in style, delivering their heartbreaking package to their hosts whose drummer boys had already began to wax praisey tunes over anticipated breaking of their home 'voodoo' that had held them down all season long.

Wednesday's result equally marks the first time Bayelsa United would Snatch a result inside the Dan Anyiam Stadium in as many as three visits. And the Diprieye Tebowei charges did that in an extraordinary fashion, delivering the heartbreaking punch when the home fans were already waxing their celebration tunes to herald a winning era after ostensibly burying the ghost of the 'voodoo' that had held them down since the start of the season.

With only seven minutes away from their first win of the season, Heartland shockingly became the Biblical Moses, who toiled all year round to lead the Israeli test out of Egypt, to the Promise Land, saw the land of milk and honey but never stepped foot on it.

That was how close Coach Christian Obi's men came on Wednesday evening after
Promise Anyanwu handed the home side an early lead just 11 minutes after kick off.

They held on going into the recess and Ike Chinedu providing what had looked like an 'insurance' goal on the 75th minute to send the stadium into wide jubilation.

They looked like coasting home to glory. But the visitors turned the heat as the hosts pulled off the throttle pedal in the last quarter of an hour. And the bubble burst!

Nneoyi Ofem halved the deficit for the visitors on 83rd minute. At this point, confidence and concentration dropped on the hosts and Bayelsa United tightly screwed their heads onto their necks, cutting every blade of the grass as they poured out in numbers, encampment on their hosts territory like locust invasion.

It paid off instantly as Robert Mizo's 84th minute effort completed the quick fire burst, bring Bayelsa United back on level terms in an incredible fashion.

The 2-2 final score evoked fans screams, demanding for changes in the team's technical department.

The final result also meant the five-time champions appear comfortably enjoying life at their '20th Avenue' as they now have a mountain to climb rescuing their season even though 30 games still remain a marathon.
