One security guard wey dem call Unzweghel Terseer don land for Chief Magistrates’ Court for Wuse, Abuja, on top allegation say he thief building materials worth over N7 million from one construction site for Mabushi.

 

Police prosecutor, Chinenye Okafor, talk say the matter start when the site owner, Oluwatosin Adegoke, report the case for Mabushi Police Station on July 16.

 

According to Okafor, the defendant — wey dem employ to guard the site — allegedly thief:

• Cable wires worth N6 million

• Tiles wey reach N1,188,680

• Two cutting machines worth N105,000 and N70,000

• One drilling machine worth N70,000

• Chairs wey cost N16,000

 

She talk say the offence wey Terseer commit na serious one under Section 289 of the Penal Code.

 

Terseer deny the charge — he plead not guilty.

 

Him lawyer, Enagonimi Ekpede, apply for bail, using Section 36(5) of the 1999 Constitution and Sections 158 and 162 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act take back him argument. He promise say the accused go provide reliable surety if dem grant am bail.

 

Chief Magistrate Abubakar Sadiq grant the defendant N8 million bail with two sureties. One of the sureties must get work for either government or private organisation, and dem must bring:

• Letter of appointment

• Confirmation letter

• Verifiable home address

The court don shift the case go September 2, 2025, for proper hearing.
