Grassrunners Appoints Edith Agoye As New Head Coach

Grassrunners FC have appointed former Super Eagles player and Shooting Stars Sports Club head coach, Edith Olumide Agoye as their new Head coach effective from August 1, 2025.
In a Press statement signed by the Remo Ikenne based clubside's Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Olugbenga Victor Agbejoye, which was made available to the media, Agoye penned a three -year deal with the club and he replaces their former head coach, Paul Offor who has moved on to join Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Akwa United.
"We are happy to announce the appointment of Edith Agoye as our new head coach following the departure of our former head coach, Paul Offor, the statement read.
"Agoye has signed a three - year contract with us and his appointment takes effect as from August 1, 2025.
"We welcome him to this great family while also wishing Offor the very best in his new assignment.
"We are very grateful as a club for the impact and value Offor added to the growth of this great club", the statement concluded.
Agoye, a graduate of the University of Ibadan, holds a UEFA C Licence s well as CAF B and C licenses respectively.
The former Enyimba Int'l of Aba player who played for the national team in 2002 and also for the Flying Eagles, scored 21 times in 42 appearances in his first stint at Shooting Stars.
Agoye also starred for various European clubs such as Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel, Portimonense, Portugal, DW Oberhausen, Germany, FC Schaffhausen, Switzerland amongst others.
He's multi-lingua as he speaks English, French, German and Portuguese.
The club, which also is participating in both the Nationwide League One Division (NLO) and the N -Youth League, has produced the likes of current Flying Eagles stars, Emmanuel Chukwu and Precious Benjamin both with Hoffenheim, Germany and Angelo Agbejoye who is on his way to joinning top English side, Manchester City.
