Rising middle-distance star Grace Onah delivered a performance to remember at the MTNChamp Series 3 in Lagos, claiming double gold in the U20 1500m and 800m, and firmly establishing herself as one of Nigeria’s most promising young athletes ahead of the National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

Competing for United Unattached Athletics, the 17-year-old showed incredible poise and stamina, first storming to victory in the 1500m, clocking a time of 4:46.54. Not content with one win, she returned to dominate the 800m, finishing in 2:17.09, showcasing her range, resilience, and racing intelligence.

Her back-to-back victories not only earned her accolades but also positioned her as a clear medal contender for the upcoming Sports Festival, where she’ll face stiffer competition on a bigger stage.

Much of Grace’s rise has been guided by her coach and mentor, Felix Aladeyemi, whose coaching has transformed her raw potential into elite performance.

From regional tracks to the national spotlight, Grace Onah is fast becoming the face of Nigeria’s middle-distance future—and the journey is just beginning.
