Na big tori waka for Nigeria political ground as former Osun State Governor and former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, don officially accept im appointment as Interim National Secretary of African Democratic Congress (ADC) – di party wey National Opposition Coalition Group don adopt as their official platform.

 

For him acceptance speech wey him deliver on Tuesday, Aregbesola drop serious message full with sense, passion and direction, as him talk say Nigeria politics need better structure and party wey really dey for di people, no be for selfish ambition.

 

“Na with plenty humility, strong sense of duty and hope wey no dey shake… I take accept this appointment as di National Secretary of our great party,” Aregbesola talk.

 

Him thank di party leadership and praise ordinary members wey still believe say politics fit bring better change. Him warn say political party no be ladder for opportunists wey just want reach power by any means.

 

Aregbesola even talk about African National Congress (ANC) for South Africa as example of real party wey get soul and ideology. According to am, ANC no perfect, but na party wey stand for something serious – justice, equality, dignity, freedom and people’s voice.

 

“ANC get character, get soul. E be true platform for people to express wetin dey their mind,” him talk.

 

But for Nigeria, Aregbesola say many political parties na just empty shells – dem dey break and join anyhow because of power and personal interest, not because of policy or principle. He say di people and di country no dey even enter dem mind.

 

Di Plan to Rebuild

 

Aregbesola promise say ADC under him hand go get clear ideology and values wey go make sense. Di party go stand for democracy, social justice, rule of law, and development. E no go just dey active during election time – e go dey work for Nigerians every day.

 

Him priority include:

• Real internal democracy wey go dey transparent and fair.

• From ward level to national, party structures must dey work well.

• Youths, women and marginalized people must get real voice, no be audio inclusion.

• Farmers, workers, teachers, people wey get special needs and other groups must get their own space inside di party.

 

Aregbesola still talk say dem go study wetin dey work for party organisation across di world – from South Africa to Sweden, Chile to Kenya – and dem go adjust am to fit Naija style. Discipline, order and true service to people na wetin go define ADC going forward.

 

“We no just go talk about public education – we go build schools. We no go only dey shout security – we go support real policies wey go protect people,” him yarn.
