General Manager, Gombe United Football Club, Alhaji Abubakar Dan Fulani has assured the club teeming fans that the Savannah Scorpions will not relegate to the second tier.

The former Team Manager, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan made this assurance on Monday during the popular interview session in one of the Nigeria's leading WhatsApp groups, *Sports World Platform* ably anchored by Ibadan based Sports journalist, *Sunday Agunbiade popularly known as Mr VAR* and *Sportsville Sports produce from Lagos State, Wale Oye*.

One of the questions posed to the former Enyimba FC and Sunshine Stars Coordinator was how the club is coping with the paltry sum of Twelve Million Naira subvention from government and threat he received from the state governments that he would divert its financial gesture to Doma United domiciled in the state if Gombe United is not performing well. The vastly experienced Football administrator noted that the  #12M monthly subvention is being used to pay both salaries and run four matches in a month.

In his words:"  I have received series of calls anytime we experience traveling hiccups on how we are we coping with a monthly subvention of Twelve Million Naira #12M in this present economic climate. Some even asked if the subvention is strictly meant for prosecution of matches but I told them that we pay both salaries of our players, management, coaching crew and back room staff and prosecute use it to prosecute at least four(4) matches in a month".

" Truth be told, the last time I had this kind of challenge was when I was in Shooting Stars in 2014. At times, three months subvention would not be paid on time but the Accountant General of Oyo State then was a very good person.  He used to borrow us money to run activities before the money drops".

Presently, Gombe United is 19th on the log with Heartland occupying the last seat, yet, the former Board member of Gombe United Football Club insisted and assured that the Savannah Scorpions will do everything within its means to survive the drop

"Here, I tried to use my experience to get out of this challenge but things are very difficult with the economic situation particularly when we have to embark on long journey. Fuel and other logistics are no longer predictable in Nigeria now. But come what may, with the 2-0 victory over Sporting Lagos and the determination of our players and support of my Governor,  Gombe United will not go on relegation ". Dan Fulani assured
