Golden Boot Race Heats Up as Bolaji, Ajakaye Lead NWFL Scoring Charts

The battle for the 2024 NWFL Premiership Golden Boot is reaching fever pitch, with Remo Stars Ladies’ striker Bolaji Olamide holding a narrow lead at the top of the goal chart with nine goals.
Hot on her heels is Robo Queens’ forward Opeyemi Ajakaye, who has closed the gap to just one goal after netting her eighth of the season on Matchday 11.
Ajakaye’s red-hot form has seen her score six goals in her last three matches, including a sensational hat-trick against Benue Queens — a run that underscores her determination to not only drive her team forward but also claim the top scorer honour.
The race remains wide open, with several other players still in contention. Jenat Akekeromowei (Nasarawa Amazons), Mary Moses (Rivers Angels), Mary Lucky (Abia Angels), and Kafayat Bashiru (Remo Stars Ladies) all have seven goals each, making the final three games of the regular season crucial.
With Matchday 12 played on Wednesday, goal scorers will have another shot at climbing the chart and reshaping the title race — setting up what promises to be a thrilling end to the season.
