“God Told Me to Raise My Husband’s Child from Infidelity”.. Pastor Christie Bature
Pastor Christie Bature has revealed a deeply personal experience of betrayal, forgiveness, and faith, recounting how she chose to remain in her marriage and raise a child born from her husband’s infidelity after what she describes as divine instruction.
Speaking in a recent interview, the cleric narrated how she discovered that her husband’s unfaithfulness had resulted not only in emotional betrayal but also in the birth of a child. She said her initial reaction was to leave the marriage, a decision she believed was justified under the circumstances.
However, Pastor Bature explained that she felt a strong spiritual prompting urging her to stay, forgive her husband, and take responsibility for the child.
According to her, the decision was not easy, as she grappled with intense emotional pain despite her role as a minister.
She noted that being in ministry did not shield her from heartbreak; rather, it deepened her internal struggle as she questioned why such an experience would occur despite her faith and dedication to God.
“The most difficult part was accepting and raising the child as my own,” she said, explaining that she eventually cared for the child alongside her biological child, raising them almost like twins.
For years, she said, both children were nurtured equally—dressed alike and given the same level of love and attention—despite the painful circumstances surrounding their upbringing.
Reflecting on that period, Pastor Bature admitted that she still finds it difficult to fully explain how she endured the situation, attributing her strength to divine grace and continuous spiritual guidance.
She added that the experience ultimately became the foundation of her ministry, shaping her understanding of forgiveness and influencing her calling to help others dealing with pain and emotional wounds.
Initially known for her music ministry, Pastor Bature said she never envisioned becoming a preacher. However, she now believes her journey was part of a greater purpose—to guide others through challenges involving betrayal, healing, and reconciliation.
Her story has since resonated with many, sparking conversations around faith, forgiveness, and the complexities of marriage and personal conviction.
