Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), FCT Sector Command don advise motorists make dem get patience as heavy traffic dey for Gwagwalada Bridge because of ongoing work to remove temporary steel structures for the bridge.

 

FCT Sector Commander, Felix Theman, give the advice through statement wey Command Public Education Officer, Helen Ntaji, release on Tuesday for Abuja.

 

Theman call on all road users make dem remain calm, cooperate with FRSC officers and other security agencies, and obey traffic instructions so that movement go dey smooth.

 

According to am, the expansion work and steel fortifications wey dem put for the bridge since 2025 na to allow heavy equipment pass, and e make dem close one side of the road temporarily.

 

He explain say as dem dey dismantle the steel structures now, e don slow down movement of vehicles and cause delay for travelers, leading to loss of man-hours and plenty inconvenience.

 

“Motorists suppose get patience, behave well and obey traffic officers wey dey control movement for that area,” he talk.

 

He add say if drivers follow instructions of officers on ground, e go help reduce the traffic and make movement better until dem finish the work.

 

As Sallah dey approach, wey go increase number of vehicles for road, Theman also advise drivers make dem maintain lane discipline and avoid dangerous overtaking.

 

“This one go help prevent accidents and make sure say the situation no worse because of lack of cooperation,” he emphasise.

 

The sector commander assure say FRSC officers go continue to guide and direct motorists, and say the command dey work closely with the construction company to make sure say dem finish the work as soon as possible.
