Former Super Eagles Olorunleke Ojo Joins Ethiopian Side Wolwalo Adigrat University

Former Super Eagles invitee Olorunleke Ojo has completed a short-term move to Ethiopian Premier League club Wolwalo Adigrat University.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who was a free agent after parting ways with Sudanese club Al-Merrikh SC, has received his international clearance and work permit, allowing him to join the team immediately.
Wolwalo, currently bottom of the league with just nine points from 19 matches, have struggled defensively, conceding 24 goals—the second highest in the division. Head coach Tsegaye Kidanemariam is hopeful that Ojo’s experience will bolster their survival fight.
Speaking at his unveiling, Ojo expressed his excitement about the move and assured fans of his dedication.
“I am truly pleased to be here; it is an honor to don the yellow jersey and represent Wolwalo,” he said. “I am committed to giving my all for Wolwalo and its supporters. The chance to work hard in Ethiopia and contribute to the club’s success is a great motivation for me.”
Ojo, who won the NPFL title with Enyimba in 2023, was also part of Nigeria’s squad at AFCON 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire, where he earned a silver medal as an unused substitute.
