Omowunmi Akinnifesi, the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2005 winner, has disclosed that she is still a virgin at 37.

In a video released to mark her birthday on December 4, Akinnifesi opened up about her decision to remain celibate, a commitment she made to God at the age of 18. She revealed that the covenant helped her win the MBGN crown and guided her life choices.

The businesswoman also shared that the journey was not without challenges. She admitted to feeling shame and isolation due to her decision but noted that it inspired her to start Sacred Vessels, an initiative aimed at helping women rediscover their self-worth and uphold moral values.

In a video titled The Walk in Purity, Akinnifesi explained her struggles and the ridicule she faced:

“Because I have kept myself, I walked in shame for a very long time. I was actually very ashamed of it. I had friends that I couldn’t talk to. When I finally spoke to them, they would laugh at me.”

Despite the challenges, Akinnifesi said her faith and grace from God sustained her. She also noted that rumors about her personal life motivated her to remain steadfast in her decision:

“The stories I would hear about myself… It was very hard for me, but I did it through the grace of God.”

Akinnifesi emphasized the importance of her initiative, saying:

“The way women are now, it’s almost as if we don’t understand our value anymore and our morals. I am starting this initiative because things are very different right now.”

Through Sacred Vessels, she aims to inspire women to uphold their values and embrace their worth in a changing world.
