Former Adamawa United Chairman Zira Loses Dad
One of Nigeria’s top sports administrators, Hon. Emmanuel Zira, has lost his father, Assistant Superintendent of Police 2 Stephen Zira Kwaghe (Rtd), to the cold hands of death, Thursday, 18th of July, 2014, after a protracted illness. He died at the age of 104 years.
Zira, who was the former Chairman of Adamawa United and Adamawa Queens Football clubs, as well as, former board member of Plateau United Fc, and a consultant to the disbanded Juth Football club of Jos, said that though the death of their father is a very sad one, but it is surely, a celebration of life.
"We thank God that papa lived a fulfilled life and he enjoyed remarkable longevity. We are proud of his life and the impact he made on the lives of his community and of course, his unblemished services to Nigeria," Zira, who was also a former Chairman of Plateau State Badminton Association, added.
Pa Zira was survived by 8 sons and 5 daughters, many grand and great grand children. He will be buried in their home town of Michika, Adamawa State, on Tuesday, 23rd of July, 2024.
