As the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) moves to appoint coaches for its junior national teams, former Abia Angels FC coach, Nwoke Benjamin Obinna, has officially expressed interest in taking charge of the Nigeria female U-17 team, the Flamingos.

 

Obinna is a CAF-licensed football coach fluent in both English and French. He previously led top Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) clubs including Heartland Queens of Owerri, Abia Angels FC of Aba, and First Mahi Babes FC of Abakaliki.

 

Renowned for his tactical expertise in the women’s game, Obinna is widely regarded as a technically gifted coach and a born winner. He has also built a reputation for identifying and nurturing upcoming talents, a hallmark of his coaching philosophy.

 

With the NFF committee set to conclude its deliberations soon, Obinna’s appointment is seen as a strong possibility given his experience, credentials, and track record in developing young female footballers in Nigeria.

 

Observers note that his leadership could bring a new level of technical and tactical discipline to the Flamingos, positioning them for success in upcoming international competitions.
