National U17 women’s team striker, Queen Joseph, has emerged winner of the Fosla Academy 100 metres athletics competition, adding another achievement to her growing sporting profile.

 

Queen Joseph, who was the highest goal scorer for Nigeria’s Flamingos at the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup held in Morocco, outpaced other competitors to claim first position in the girls’ 100m race.

 

The SS 2 student participated in the competition organised by Fosla Academy as part of its second-term internal sports tournament, a tradition aimed at recognising outstanding student performances and encouraging punctual resumption to school. According to Queen Joseph, the tournament also serves as a welcome initiative for students who have developed the habit of resuming early for the academic term.

 

Students competed in four approved sports—football, athletics, chess and Ludo—with winners emerging across the various categories. Outstanding performers were presented with awards in recognition of their achievements.
