First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu Declares 39th Women African Volleyball Club Championship In Abuja

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, declared the 39th Women's African Volleyball Club Championship open in Abuja, Nigeria, on April 3, 2025. The ceremony, held at the Mushood Abiola Sport Indoor Hall, showcased the richness of African culture, with music, dance, and art performances that moved fans to tears. 

The championship features 16 clubs from 10 African countries, highlighting the continent's unity and the growth of volleyball. This marks the second time Nigeria has hosted the tournament, with the first being in 1996, but it's the first time Abuja is hosting. 

Senator Tinubu, a strong advocate for women's empowerment and sports development, was joined by top dignitaries, including CAVB President Bouchra Hajij and the Controller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
