Super Eagles coach Finidi George has reeled out the condition for players to be invited for national team assignments under his reign.

He made this known shortly after he was unveiled by NFF at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Monday.

According to him, only players who feature regularly at their clubs will stand a chance  to be extended invitation for international assignments. 

In his words,  "You have to be playing regularly in your club, and you must have that commitment. For me, Nigeria is first, and that is the same commitment and loyalty I want from each player that is invited, and if you can do that, we are good to go."

On his personal target, he said" My first target is to make sure that we are in line to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by winning the upcoming two matches against South Africa and Benin Republic. The 2025 AFCON qualifiers will soon start, and we must also be prepared for those as well. I know what the NFF wants as it is boldly written in the contract, and I will work very hard to add value to the team and put myself in the position to earn even more than I will be earning from the take-off.”

The unveiling ceremony was graced by the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, NFF President,  Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau.
