FIFA Announces 2027 Women World Cup Host In May 2024

FIFA Women’s World Cup, the quadrennial international women’s football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA.


The tournament will involve 32 national teams, including that of the host nation, after FIFA announced the expansion of the tournament in July 2019.

Spain are the defending champions, having won their first title in 2023 with a 1-0 win over England.

The joint European bids of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands are joined by bids from Brazil and South Africa as well as another joint bid from Mexico and the United States of America (USA).

On 17 May 2024, FIFA will make the appointment of the 2027 Women’s World Cup host(s) by the FIFA Congress.
