The Nigerian senior women basketball team, D'Tigress on Saturday in Fara away France came from behind to sudue the Gilas Philipinas of Philippines 101-84 points after the Philippines had taken the half time scores at 51-42 points.

Nigeria was dazed 21-26 points in the 1st quarter; outplayed 21-25 points in the 2nd quarter but Rena Wakama fearing a sixth loss handling Nigeria rejigged her game taking the 3rd quarter by a fanciful 34-21 points which demoralised the Gilas Phililipinas women to lose the 4th quarter 25-14.

Nigeria toppled Philippines in a10-5 2nd chance points and a good 52-30 points at the points on paints but Nigeria for the 3rd game succumb to fast breaks from opponents as Gilas babes got 25-21 points there. Nigeria got 58-33 points from rebounds and 36-26 points from assists.

Nigeria currently tops Group D in France having played 3 matches winning 2 and losing 1 with a total 231-198 points and chalking 5 game points; France with 2 games is 2nd winning both matches having 203-114 total points and 4 game points.

Germany with 2 matches played and won is 3rd with 189-129 total points and 4 game points; South Korea is 4th having won one and lost her 2nd match scoring 126-136 total points and 3 game points.

Philippines that just lost her 3rd match to Nigeria is 5th having lost all her 3 matches now with 230-329 total points and 3 game points while Columbia is at the bottom of the group table having 2 game points in no match won of her 2 games with a blismal 85-158 total points.

For the records, ranking of the group teams by FIBA world Basketball body is as follows: France -3, Nigeria-8; Germany-12; Korea-15 and Columbia-19.

Nigeria's next match against France tomorrow Sunday at 7pm will be the group decider even before Nigeria faces Germany on Tuesday at 5pm in the last group games.
