Sad news don hit the Lagos State Police Command as dem announce say the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Festac Division, CSP Matilda Ngbanoyen, don die while she dey receive medical treatment for Lagos.

 

According to report, the incident happen on Friday, October 24, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., for Mayriamville Medical Centre, Bode Thomas, Surulere, where she dey undergo treatment for fibroid.

 

Police sources talk say after dem hear the news, one team from the Command go the hospital to confirm wetin happen and to make necessary arrangements.

 

“The corpse was evacuated to a public morgue for preservation and autopsy,” one of the sources talk.

 

The Lagos Police Command also talk say dem don start to work with the late officer’s family to give her befitting burial.

 

CSP Ngbanoyen, wey plenty officers and residents for Festac know well, be dedicated, disciplined and professional officer wey serve the Nigeria Police Force with full commitment.

 

The Command, for official statement, send deep condolences to her family, colleagues and friends, describing her death as a big loss not only to the police but to the entire Lagos community.

 

“CSP Matilda Ngbanoyen was a shining example of leadership, courage and service to humanity. Her legacy go continue to inspire officers wey she leave behind,” the statement read.

 

Until her death, CSP Ngbanoyen be one of the few female DPOs wey command strong respect for Lagos policing circle, known for her firmness and fairness in handling cases for Festac and surrounding areas.
