The 2025 President Federation Cup (Women’s Category) delivered a flurry of goals and drama over the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday hosting the Round of 32 fixtures across different centers.

NWFL Premiership clubs asserted their dominance, with emphatic wins ensuring smooth passage to the Round of 16.

Defending champions Rivers Angels laid down a marker with a ruthless 7-0 demolition of Moje Queens in Benin City, while Heartland Queens matched the scoreline, overpowering Crystal Stars with ease.

But it was Ibom Angels who stole the spotlight, dishing out a record-breaking 17-0 thumping of Sporting Angels—arguably the biggest win of the round.

Reigning NWFL Premiership champions Edo Queens also had a field day in Anyigba, tearing apart Kada Queens 12-0 in a one-sided affair. Nasarawa Amazons weren’t left out, cruising past Kwara Ladies 6-0 in Asaba.

Bayelsa Queens edged fellow top-flight side Naija Ratels 2-1, while Sunshine Queens needed penalties to outlast Castmog Ladies after a goalless draw (8-7 on penalties). Similarly, Onimarg FC triumphed over Fortress Ladies via shootout after a 1-1 draw, winning 4-2 on penalties.

Other results saw Osun Babes beat N-Youth 3-0, Dannaz Ladies produce a strong 5-0 win over GP World, and First Mahi Babes claim a 4-1 victory over Gallant Queens.

In matches that never kicked off, Delta Queens and Unification Ladies advanced via walkovers over Jacklyn Angels and Adamawa Queens, respectively.

With the Round of 16 on the horizon, the stakes are higher as the elite women’s teams edge closer to cup glory.
