Federal High Court for Abuja don dismiss one lawsuit wey Lawyers Alert Initiative file to stop FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) from arresting and prosecuting commercial sex workers for Abuja. Justice James Omotosho rule say di lawsuit no get merit and say e no follow di right procedure under Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009.

Di group wey file di lawsuit ask court to determine if AEPB get di power to harass, arrest, detain, or prosecute women wey dem suspect say dem dey do sex work for Abuja streets. Dem also ask court to declare say referring to dese women as "articles" or treating dem bodies as "goods for purchase" for charges filed at FCT Mobile Court be discriminatory and violate Section 42 of 1999 Constitution.

But Justice Omotosho criticize di practice of prostitution, say e be immoral and culturally unacceptable. E say prostitution no be part of Nigerian values and say even for some Western countries, e remain illegal. E conclude say AEPB get di right to arrest and prosecute sex workers, labeling dem as public nuisance and describing dem as "vagabonds" under di law.

Judge Omotosho also question di motive behind di lawsuit, suggesting say di applicant should focus on promoting di development of di girl child and upholding di dignity of womanhood rather than advocating for commercial sex workers.
