Action in the ongoing FCT School Sports Festival, which began on Thursday last week, continues today with more finalists, expected to emerge on ball and court events, to be decided at eight of the centres; that's Abaji, Kwali, Kuje, Gwagwalada, Tunga Maje, GSS Garki, Karshi and Dutse-Alhaji.

The fiesta peaked at the Tudun Wada center on Monday, and the seven other zones, where the prelimilaies of the rejuvenated games are holding, across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with team sports like volleyball, handball, football and table tennis events, taking centre stage at the Primary, Juniors and Senior categories. 

Our man George Adame who monitored events at the Tudun Wada centre, reports that the remainder of the games at that Venue, has now been moved to GSS Garki, after the coordinator Mr. Luka Tanze and officials of the competing schools reached a conclusion that the facilities at GSS Garki were better, for the concluding phase of the fiesta. 

In some games decided yesterday, LEA Primary Schools Kpadna in Jabi 2 defeated Early Strides Private School 3-0 in Boys football to qualify to the final. 

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, the Coach of LEA Primary School Kpanda, Musa Tanko said he was pleased with the effort of his players; but noted that they lost the game because they were a bit tense even before the match kicked-off. 

On his part, the captain of the winning team, that's Early Strides Private School, Abuchi Udenafor said he has a lot to say, and will do exactly that when they win the zonal final.

Victory means
Early Strides Primary School has qualified for the final in this category.

In Table Tennis, Army Day Secondary School Maitama and GGSS Pyakassa are both through to the final of the Senior and Junior girls category respectively, as no  other schools entered athletes for the two categories.

And from Karshi Center, we can report that GSS Karu defeated GDSS Karu by 2 sets to 1 in Senior Girls Volleyball; while GMSS Jikwoyi beat GSS Karshi by 2 sets to Love.

In Handball, Senior Category, Primark International Academy secured automatic qualification to the grand finalé; and it was same in Handball Junior Category, where JSS Karshi got an automatic ticket to play in the grand finalé.

Our man Godstime Egelege reports that  Othniel Kenneth of GSS Karu defeated Caleb Ayikoye of GSS Karshi to win the Senior Boys Table Tennis final by 2 sets to Love.

Badminton Senior Girls final was won by GSS Karu whose representative defeated his counterpart from GDSS Karu 2 sets 1. In Badminton, Senior Boys Semi finals, GSS Karu outclassed GDSS Karu 2 sets to Love; whilst GSS Karshi got automatic qualification to the grand finalé.

In the final of Senior Boys Badminton, GSS Karu won it by beating GSS Karshi 2-Love; and in Junior Boys Football JSS Karshi lost 0-1 to Fosla Academy Karshi.

Meanwhile, JSS Narai drew 1-1 with JSS Jikwoyi, but JSS Narai won the penalty shootout 5:4; and in Senior Boys Football GSS Karu drew goalless with GMSS Jikwoyi but GMSS Jikwoyi advanced with a 3-2 shootout victory. GSS Karshi also lost 0-2 to VEI Karshi; GDSS Karu fell 0 - 1 to. GSS Nyanya.

From the GSS Gwagwalada Centre, Olukayode Raymond reports that the football event kicked off yesterday, and in grand style; with JSS Hajj Camp beating JSS Gwako in the opening match. The encounter ended 1-1 at regulation time but JSS Hajj Camp made it to the next round after winning 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

GSS Gwagwalada also defeated GSS Bako 5-4 on penalty after their game ended goalless at full time.

Elsewhere, LEA Primary School Angwan Dodo  automatically qualified to represent the Zone in the final playoffs, as they were the only Primary School that registered for the event.

In Volleyball, School for the Gifted  defeated GSS Gwagwalada 2-Love (25-10, 25-11), in the Senior Boys category; and in the Girls contest, GSS Gwagwalada defeated School for the Gifted 2- Love (25-23, 25-15).
