FCT Police Investigate Fatal Train Accident on Gwagwa-Idu Rail Line

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into a fatal train accident that claimed the life of an unidentified woman along the Gwagwa-Idu railway line on March 24, 2025.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police spokesperson, officers responded to a distress call around 11:00 AM regarding an unconscious female found on the railway tracks behind Zeberced Company, Idu.
Upon arrival, police discovered the lifeless and disfigured body of the victim, who was believed to have been struck by a passing train. The remains were immediately evacuated to Kubwa General Hospital, where her death was confirmed.
Authorities are actively working to identify the victim and locate her relatives.

In light of the tragic incident, DCP Isyaku Sharu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), has urged residents to exercise caution around railway lines and adhere to safety regulations.
The police have also called on anyone with useful information regarding the victim to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
