It's now a dawn of new era at Heartland FC as new Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, MFR, rings modern and positive shifts in all strata of the five-time Nigeria champions, Heartland FC, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The Naze Millionaires are on the fastest lane of return to trophy winning ways given the wave of positive changes in all facets of the in line with European best practices as being introduced by the former African Footballer of the Year, Emma Amuneke.

Exclusivenews.com.ng was in Owerri for two days and observed that as a first step, 'square pegs' are being put in 'square holes' in the coaching department of the club.

Aside Amuneke taking the overall head of the coaching crew, several ex players have been put together with most of them being former players of the club.

Exclusivenews.com.ng reports that aside Amuneke, there are also the likes of Emeka Amadi, MFR, who was Amuneke's goalkeepers coach in 2015 when Amuneke won the FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile and also during Amuneke's brief spell as U20 Flying Eagles Head Coach.

Amadi was with Amuneke when he qualified Tanzania for their first AFCON in 2019 in 39 years. He was also with the former Barcelona winger during his coaching spell at both Sudan, Egypt and Zanaco of Zambia.

Emma Olowo and Ike ThankGod, two defenders that helped the club reach the CAF Champions League in 2009 are also part of the new Heartland coaching crew. There's also Isaac Mbaegbu, a former left back  of the club, Chinedu 'Chicago' Efugh and Charles Uzor. At the moment, Amuneke has not assigned official specific roles to them.

The new wave sweeping through the Naze Millionaires as being solicited for by many long ago but due to lack of political will to execute it is akin to what obtains in European clubs and Enyimba and Abia Warriors on the domestic scene.

Exclusivenews.com.ngalso saw an incredibly 'green-lush' Dan Anyiam Stadium pitch that has gone through regressing, fumigation and de-insectising' with Amuneke regularly inspecting it on a daily basis as NPFL Inspection Team are due in Owerri next week. 

The Practice Pitch at the back of the Stadium is understood to be up for rehabilitation with its inspection and measurement already held on Wednesday.

"This is what we had long awaited, someone with the trust and prudence that will command the trust, reliability of Government to drive such changes", informs one of the members of the Supporters Club who only identified himself as Chima, told Exclusivenews.com.ng.

Dan Anyiam Stadium has continued to be center of attraction as many troop in to catch a glimpse of the team's training sessions and the new look Stadium Pitch with many of them openly declaring their total support for the 1994 AFCON winner as well as 1996 Olympic Games Soccer Gold Medal winner in his reforms at the club.
