AFC Toronto stormed into the maiden Northern Super League (NSL) Championship Final in style, thrashing Montreal Roses FC 4–1 (6–1 on aggregate) in a snow-swept semifinal at York Lions Stadium.

 

Leading the charge was Super Falcons star Esther Okoronkwo, who produced a sensational first-half hat-trick to put the contest out of reach.

 

The 28-year-old Nigerian forward opened the scoring within minutes of kickoff, pouncing on a defensive error to slot home the opener. She quickly doubled the lead with a composed finish before completing her treble in the 30th minute — a feat that now stands as the fastest hat-trick in NSL history.

 

After the interval, Lauren Rowe made it four with a crisp strike, while Tanya Boychuk netted a late consolation for Montreal Roses.

 

With the victory, AFC Toronto — already regular-season champions — march on to the NSL Grand Final, where they will face Vancouver Rise FC at BMO Field on November 15. Vancouver booked their spot after edging Ottawa 5–4 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 3–3 aggregate stalemate.

 

Toronto will now chase a historic double, with Okoronkwo’s blistering form providing a massive boost ahead of the title decider.
