Enyimba of Aba, a front runner for the 2023/2024 NPFL title, have expressed irritation over the apparent silence of the NFF Appeals Committee on the appeal they (Enyimba) instituted against the points deduction slated on them by the Organising and Disciplinary Committee of the NFF following the controversy that overshadowed their match day 24 clash against Doma Utd in Aba, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The 'glamour team of Nigeria club football and most successful team in the country' are worried that the appeal is yet to be looked into with the season fast running to its climax.

The NFF Appeals Committee is headed by Barrister Gandi Umar Mohammed.

"We thought the NFF Appeals Committee would have used the period the league was put on hold for Rivers Utd to see off their backlog of outstanding matches to adjudicate on our appeal", starts Ifeanyi Ekwueme, Sporting Director of Enyimba.

"This would have ensured that all the teams resumed the campaign on a level playing field. But that's not to be.

"Now we've resumed the season and there are just a few games remaining on the fixtures. Yet, we've heard no word nor action from the Appeals Committee as regards our appeal.

"We lodged our appeal, a strong and convincing one for that matter, did all the documentation including payment of the appeal (legal) fees.

"But till date, we've heard no word from them, nobody has told us anything and the league has resumed with just few matches, I think with only five matches remaining.

"This delay, this silence, I think, is not the best and of course, not healthy for our league at this point in time", Ekwueme, a former Nigeria international said.
