The second edition of the annual Enyimba/Ham Kam FC, Norwey Partnership Talent Development and Scouting Program enters day two today, 17 February, 2025, at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Organisers have revealed a segmented schedule of programs lined for today with with training sessions for the U15 and U17 players as well as lectures for coaches and officials.

Thereafter, there will be a short break at 12 noon, after which Enyimba U17 Team will take the pitch against Papilo Academy U17 at 2pm.

Soon after that, the U19s of Enyimba will file out against Papilo U19s at the same venue to bring the day's activities to a fitting close.

Former Super Eagles Captain, Nwankwo Kanu, spoke on the 'marriage' between Enyimba and Ham Kam, a Norwegian Eliteresien League side.

"Last year, we had this Partnership signed and sealed. For Enyimba, the most important thing is that we don't want Ham Kam to be in their country and we'll be sending clips to them", Papilo began.

"We just want them to be here. And last year they came and said our club, Enyimba, is organised and had a little structure and that they were pleased. We're happy.

"And when they went back, they gave report of what they saw in Aba, Nigeria, and the management of Ham Kam was pleased. That was reason why they sent them again for this second trip to Aba.

"If there was no security in Aba, Abia State, or if we'd done anything wrong, or that our was not a capable team, I'm sure they wouldn't have been back here again this time. But altogether, they said Enyimba is one of the best teams in the country. And that was why they still stick with Enyimba.

"And for them now coming, you that when you get to a place for the first time, you're bound to stand with one leg. But this time around, the opposite is the case. They are relaxed and want to do even more.

"This time around, we're trying to make sure that we impart on all the coaches in Abia State. So, it's like a course for the coaches I Abia State, including Enyimba, ofcourse, is the host. And after that, the players who are going to be here, are going to benefit from it because of what they are going to teach the coaches.

"As we're saying, if eventually there is an exceptionally talented, skilful player of U15 U17 or U19, whatever, that's there role now to make sure that they picked such a player because that's what's in the contract that will enhance our players and at the same time take them to Europe", Papilo explained.

The Enyimba Chairman further shed light on the significance of the partnership for the People's Elephant.

"First and foremost, it's about improving our youth program and our youth department; making sure that the younger ones learn faster.

"What I mean by learning faster is that the first time I was in Europe, it was totally different for me. I had to start learning from beginning. But now, as someone who has had this experience, I don't want it to happen to these young ones. So whatever they are being taught here now, when they travel, it's not going to be new to them. The only thing that will be new to them is the weather.

"Apart from the weather, in terms of football, they will know that this is what we've been doing since, it's normal. It makes it much easier to settle down".

Kanu revealed that apart from the Enyimba Partnership Deal With Ham Kam, there are other beneficial deals lined up for Enyimba Players.

"On March 1st, scouts from Poland and Czech Republic will be coming to do a four-day progra.", Kanu revealed.

"Which means, our partnership is good here. Scouting is also part of what we're doing here. So they can come and scout our players.

"Imagine a boy of 18 years who is scouted and is traveling out without even playing the NPFL, it's wonderful, for the community and himself and for the family and for the club Enyima.

"Apart from that, another one is also in the pipeline, but I'll not say it until ----but it's a big one, a great one that you're going to see in Enyimba and I think that's going to be the biggest. I'll only say it when we know that it's 100% and it has to do with the youth program that we're doing here", Kanu said
