The management of Enyimba International Football Club has handed a two-match ultimatum to the team’s Technical Adviser, Coach Stanley Eguma, following a run of disappointing results in the ongoing 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

 

The decision came after a management review meeting on Monday in the wake of Enyimba’s 2–1 loss to Plateau United on Matchday 10 at the New Jos Stadium — the club’s third consecutive league defeat following earlier setbacks against Warri Wolves in Aba and Kun Khalifat FC in Owerri.

 

This poor run has seen the nine-time NPFL champions slip to ninth position on the league table, having recorded three wins, four draws, and three losses from ten matches.

 

In a statement issued by the club’s management, the technical crew has been directed to secure positive results in the next two fixtures — against Kano Pillars in Aba this weekend and Abia Warriors in Umuahia the following week — as a condition for retaining their positions.

 

“Enyimba FC is a club with a proud winning tradition and a strong expectation of excellence,” the statement read. “While we acknowledge the efforts of the technical crew so far, the current run of results does not reflect the club’s ambition. The management expects an immediate response and improved performance beginning with Sunday’s home fixture against Kano Pillars.”

 

The club also reassured supporters that decisive measures are being taken to ensure a turnaround in form as the season progresses.

 

“We remain fully committed to restoring the team’s competitive edge and ensuring that Enyimba FC continues to represent Aba and Nigeria with pride,” the statement added.

 

Enyimba, who last lifted the NPFL title in 2023, will now look to end their poor run and revive their campaign as they face Kano Pillars in a must-win encounter at the Enyimba International Stadium this weekend.
