A famous American poet once said and I quote “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver". The above statement likely forms part of the reason Enyimba FC under the leadership of the chairman and former Super Eagles captain Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu in collaboration with The Enyimba Foundation decided to put smiles on the faces of the children and caregivers of some orphanages in Aba.
The event which was held at the Enyimba International Stadium saw some fun activities as the children expressed themselves in dance and other activities.
Speaking during the event, the chairman of Enyimba FC Ambassador Nwankwo Kanu said that the purpose of the event was to extend a helping hand to the less privileged in the society, he urged everyone to always try to extend a helping hand to those in need, he also said that the reach out programs to the less privileged would be a regular activity as it is a part of the clubs social responsibility.
Highpoints of the event include the presentation of food items such a bag of rice, a bag of gari, a keg of oil, noodles and other necessities and the sum 200,000 thousand naira cash to each of the four orphanage homes in attendance.
