The Enugu State Government don fix N150 million as mandatory permit wey all political parties and candidates go pay if dem wan do any outdoor campaign for 2026 and 2027 local, state, and federal elections.

 

The General Manager of Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency (ENSSAA), Mr Francis Aninwike, talk this one after dem finish management meeting on Monday for the agency headquarters for Enugu.

 

As e yan on top the theme: “Outdoor Promotion and Visual Campaign Guidelines for 2026 and 2027 General Elections,” Aninwike talk say the permit dey follow ENSSAA law to regulate outdoor advertising.

 

E talk say the N150 million permit go allow political parties and candidates run their campaign materials like banners, rallies, branded vehicles, T-shirts, caps, handbills, buntings, and street campaigns for urban and rural areas.

 

“Every political party and candidate must get campaign permit from ENSSAA before dem fit put any visual campaign or outdoor promo materials. The fee na N150 million wey dem go pay enter Enugu State Government account,” e yan.

 

E talk say the permit go help prevent visual pollution, make everywhere tidy, keep level play ground for all candidates, and protect public infrastructure.

 

Aninwike warn say any party or candidate wey no follow the law, dem go remove their materials and dem fit face legal wahala. E still yan say only people wey get license from Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) fit erect billboards or manage campaign structures.

 

“No individual, political party, or supporters fit put billboard for any part of Enugu without ARCON licensed practitioners as ENSSAA permit am,” e talk.

Aninwike encourage political parties make dem campaign well and say elections no suppose be “do-or-die affair,” but na democratic process wey citizens fit use fulfill their civic duty.
