In week seven of the Nigerian Premier Football League, El-Kanemi Warriors secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Enyimba FC, marking their first home win of the season. The match, held at the El-Kanemi Warriors Sports Center, attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters.

Both teams showcased their skills in a competitive first half, creating several scoring chances. It was Usman Abbas who broke the deadlock just before halftime, finishing a clever exchange with Mustapha Ibrahim (Yuga) to score the only goal of the match.

The second half saw both teams making substitutions and missing additional opportunities, but the score remained unchanged. Enyimba’s Technical Adviser praised the Warriors’ resilience and the officiating, acknowledging the missed chances as part of a well-fought contest that reflected positively on the league.

Munnir Abdul Aziz, Technical Adviser for El-Kanemi, expressed gratitude for the victory against a strong Enyimba side. He noted that both El-Kanemi Warriors and Rivers United remain unbeaten in the league and emphasized the team’s commitment to dominating at home. Abdul Aziz credited the passionate support of the fans for their success and reassured those outside Borno about the prevailing peace in the region.

El-Kanemi Warriors will next face Kwara United in a rescheduled week two match, which had been postponed due to recent flooding in Maiduguri.
