Ekiti State Prioritizes Welfare of Persons with Disabilities and Para-Athletes
The welfare of athletes and persons with disabilities (PWDs) has been prioritized in Ekiti State as part of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to advancing sports development in the region.
The newly inaugurated Para Athletics Committee in Ekiti has pledged to focus on addressing the needs of its members while driving impactful initiatives for para-athletics in the state.
“Let us focus on the welfare of our members and always address their needs. This is our opportunity to create a significant impact for Para Athletics in Ekiti State,” the committee state.
A para-athletics competition is set to take place across all 16 local government areas of Ekiti State. While the commencement date is yet to be announced, the event promises to showcase talent and foster inclusivity in sports.

• Rotawo Olusegun – Athlete Representative
• Patrick Oyeniyi, Yaquob Popoola, and Olaota Adediji – Members
