EFCC Don Arrest Archishop For Spraying Naira On Live Cow For Church
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) don announce say dem don arrest one self-acclaimed archbishop and founder of Faith Healing Ministry for Warri, Delta State, Angel Oyeghe.
According to statement wey the anti-graft agency release on Wednesday, EFCC operatives pick Oyeghe on Tuesday because of one viral video wey show “several individuals under her supervision dey spray naira notes on top live cow during church programme.”
EFCC talk say the archbishop go soon face court for conspiracy, naira mutilation and alleged money laundering.
The Commission add say Oyeghe arrest happen through the operatives of its Benin Zonal Directorate.
“The Commission dey on top the matter to arrest other suspects, as their action contravene Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007,” the statement read.
EFCC also talk say Archbishop Oyeghe don make “useful statements” and she go appear for court once investigation finish.
For recent years, many Nigerians abroad don face jail because of internet and wire fraud as international community don dey watch closely the activities of Nigerian “Yahoo boys.”
Back home, EFCC too don intensify arrest of people wey dey abuse the naira. Some big names for the country don already land for court after dem violate the law on naira misuse.
The agency say e go continue to clamp down on anybody wey dey disrespect or damage the national currency, whether for party, church, social media or any form of public display.
