Edo Queens, the CAF WAFU B champions, have been placed in Group B for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
In the draw held on Friday, Moses Aduku’s team will face reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Egypt’s Tutankhamun, and Ethiopia’s CBE FC in their group.
Group A features hosts AS FAR from Morocco, TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Aigles de la Medina from Senegal, and the University of the Western Cape from South Africa.
As the Nigerian champions make their debut in the competition, they will kick off their campaign against CBE FC on Saturday, November 10, 2024. The tournament is set to take place in Morocco from November 9 to 23, 2024.
With a total prize pool that includes $400,000 for the winners and $250,000 for the runners-up, the competition promises to showcase the best of African women’s club football, and it will be a thrilling spectacle for football fans across the continent.
It will be interesting to see how Edo Queens, fresh off their NWFL Premiership and WAFU-B triumphs, fare in this highly competitive environment!
