The management of Edo Queens Football Club has officially declared one of its players, Lucky Mary, absent without official leave (AWOL) following her unexplained departure from the team’s camp.

 

In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the club disclosed that Lucky Mary left the Edo Queens FC camp on 18 December 2025 and has remained unreachable since then. According to the statement, repeated efforts by the club’s management to contact the player have so far proved unsuccessful.

 

Edo Queens management emphasized that prior to her departure, no formal complaint was lodged by the player regarding any matter affecting her welfare or contractual engagement with the club. The club also stated that Lucky Mary did not inform management of her intention to leave nor did she seek approval before exiting the camp.

 

As a result of the situation, the club has issued a strong warning to other football clubs and stakeholders, advising them not to engage the player’s services without obtaining proper clearance from Edo Queens FC.

 

The management reiterated that due process must be followed in all player transfers and engagements, stressing that any club found in breach of this directive may face appropriate sanctions.

 

Edo Queens FC concluded by reaffirming its commitment to professionalism and discipline, noting that it will continue to uphold the rules governing player conduct and contractual obligations within the Nigeria Women Football League.
