Edo 2020 NSF, Avenue to Discover Talents — Minister

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare has assured that the well organised Edo 20th National Sports Festival is one of the best structured avenue to discover athletes and talents for podium performance, this is so because athlete would have gone through best practice and approved international screening which authentic both individual and team sport performance, thereby qualifying them to be able to compete with their counterpart both nationally and globally with timely camping and participation in qualifiers and competitions . The festival he further said is the best avenue also to the discovery of new and budding talents which needs adoption for growth to desired dream especially with young viable talents who lacks the wherewithal to rise to stardom and urgently would require both government and especially private support to thrive. The Minister believes a National Sports Festival which is biannual, the last been the 19th NSF held in Abuja, December 7th to 17th, 2018, and the 20th edition to be hosted by the Edo State government in March 2020 in Benin-city, the Edo state capital having won the hosting right after the 19th edition is acceptable. The last NSF threw up a lot of new records which revealed that there is a huge number of young talented athletes waiting to be adopted and groomed to stardom by committed individuals and corporate organizations which has been the Ministry’s objective desire to grow the youth and sports industry, which in the long run will dovetail into both employment and wealth creation for our teeming youths. The ultimate result is peace and tranquillity, against vices and the subsequent much sought for Economic Boom. The Minister along side his host the Governor, H .E, Nogheghase Obaseki, the good and hospitable people of Edo State welcomes all the Sporting family and stakeholders to the official unveiling of the 20th National Sports Festival Mascot in Benin city, the Edo state capital.
