Edel FC have been crowned champions of the 2025 Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA President Cup after a thrilling 2-0 penalty shootout victory over defending champions Solution FC.

The intense final, played at the Neros Stadium, Nanka, ended goalless after 90 minutes of regulation time, leading to the dramatic shootout where Edel FC, known as the Galloping Zebras, held their nerve to secure the title.

With this triumph, Edel FC not only lifted the prestigious trophy but also claimed the N2 million prize money on offer. Solution FC, who were aiming to defend their 2024 title, had to settle for the runners-up position and the N1 million second prize.

Earlier in the day, Peace FC secured third place by defeating Ozalla FA with a narrow 1-0 victory, earning them N500,000 in prize money.

Individual honors were also handed out, with Chibuzor Ekeocha of Solution FC emerging as the Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament with three goals. Meanwhile, Chuddy Onyeka of Edel FC was recognized as the Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performances throughout the competition.

The victory marks a historic achievement for Edel FC as they dethrone Solution FC and assert themselves as the new kings of Anambra football.
