ECN/Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Hots Up

The 2025 edition of the ECN/Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Tournament has shifted into high gear as the competition enters its second stanza on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Action in the second round will kick off with an exciting encounter between Desert Warriors FC and Prime Stars, before attention turns to the clash involving Golden Boys and Ejiwumi Academy.
Results from the opening round have already set the tone for a fiercely contested tournament. Prime Academy recorded an impressive 2–0 victory over Golden Boys, while Desert Warriors FC edged past Ejiwumi Academy with a hard-fought 1–0 win.
Earlier matches in the competition produced thrilling performances across the board. ECN Global Academy dominated Sensational Stars FC with a convincing 3–0 victory, while Cottage FC emerged victorious against Rising Stars FC. D-Royal Academy and Bocknor Academy shared the spoils in a goalless draw. Sky FC secured a narrow 2–1 win over Net Shakers, and Young Stars matched that scoreline in their triumph over Sheikhandam.
A total of 16 teams are competing in this year’s tournament, which marks the 9th edition of the ECN/Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Championship. The teams are divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the quarterfinal stage.
With young talents on display and qualification spots at stake, fans can expect more thrilling encounters as the tournament continues to gather momentum.
