Sensational Stars Academy has retained the prestigious ECN Coaches U17 trophy in Gwagwalada, Abuja, following a 2-0 victory over Bocknor Academy in the final match.

The tournament, organized by the Gwagwalada Football Coaches Council and sponsored by ECN Global Ventures Limited, saw the defending champions repeat last year’s triumph, where they also defeated Bocknor Academy, though by a closer 2-1 margin.

In the semifinals, Bocknor Academy edged past ECN Academy in a thrilling 3-2 encounter, while Sensational Stars narrowly defeated Inspirational Stars 1-0 to book their spot in the final.

The final match, which attracted dignitaries including FCT Sports Council Deputy Director Iyiola Ogundele, showcased Sensational Stars’ dominance with goals in both halves, sealing their championship win in style.

Reacting to the victory, Sensational Stars’ Technical Director, Thompson Ojukwu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the tournament sponsors, ECN Global Ventures Limited, as well as the organizers and fans.

“The journey of many miles that began weeks ago has ended today in praise,” said Ojukwu. “The match between Sensational Stars Academy and Bocknor Academy was a gallant battle. While we emerged as worthy champions, Bocknor Academy deserves commendation for their resilience throughout the tournament.
