ECN Global, Medical Feeders Zoom Into Final of ECN /Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Tournament
ECN Global Academy at the weekend secured a dramatic place in the final of the ongoing ECN /Gwagwalada Coaches U17 Tournament holding in Gwagwalada, Abuja, after a thrilling comeback victory in their semifinal clash.
The ECN Global boys overturned a two-goal deficit conceded within the first ten minutes of the first half to defeat their opponents 3–2 in a highly entertaining encounter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
Despite the early setback, ECN Global showed resilience and tactical discipline to claw their way back into contention. The turning point came in the second half when Emmanuel Aluko took control of proceedings in midfield. Dictating the tempo and inspiring his teammates, Aluko played a pivotal role in orchestrating the three goals that sealed an emphatic comeback for the academy side.
The game lived up to its billing, showcasing the depth of young talent on display in the grassroots tournament, now in its seventh edition.
In the second semifinal fixture, Medical Feeders edged past Desert Warriors with a 2–1 victory to book their own spot in the final. The tightly contested match saw Medical Feeders demonstrate composure and attacking efficiency to outscore their opponents and set up a mouthwatering final clash against ECN Global Academy.
The grand finale of the tournament will take place on Sunday, 22 February, at Government Day Secondary School, Gwagwalada, Abuja. The President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Dr. Ladan Bosso, is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour.
With both finalists in fine form, fans can look forward to an exciting conclusion to what has been a competitive and entertaining youth football championship in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
