Golden Eaglets captain Simon Cletus is set to lead his club, Mavlon FC, in a friendly match against Villarreal on Thursday.

Currently on a training tour in Spain, Mavlon FC’s players and officials have been receiving world-class football education under the guidance of renowned Spanish youth coach Juan Manuel Pavon Dominquez and experienced Manchester City goalkeeper coach Juan Maria Cruz Arias.

The Nigerian club recently secured a 2-0 victory against Villaviciosa in a friendly, but Cletus anticipates a tougher challenge against Villarreal due to their impressive reputation.

“It’s a great privilege for Mavlon FC to be in Europe for this training tour, and I sincerely thank the club management,” Cletus told Totori News in an exclusive interview. “Our match against Villarreal will be more difficult than the one against Villaviciosa.”

He acknowledged Villarreal’s strong football tradition and philosophy, stating, “We know this game won’t be easy, but we will give our best on the pitch to achieve a favorable result.”

Despite the change in weather, Cletus noted that he and his teammates have adapted well and are eager to make a strong impression. “We hope to give a good account of ourselves,” he concluded.
