A disturbing incident has unfolded in Orhuwhorun, Warri, where an assistant pastor of Winners Chapel became embroiled in a violent fallout after allegedly facilitating a fraudulent transaction for a Yahoo boy.

The drama began when a Yahoo boy from the pastor’s neighborhood enlisted him to use his bank account for a ₦70 million transaction. Acting as a middleman, the pastor’s account successfully received funds from a white client in the U.S. However, the deal fell apart when the client refused to transfer the money to Nigeria, leading to tensions among the fraudsters involved.

Violence Breaks Out

Frustrated by the failed deal, the Yahoo boy and his associates assaulted the pastor. Reports say he was forced to lie on the ground while being stomped on and was later ordered to repair a damaged phone worth ₦35,000.

The pastor, a father of three struggling to make ends meet, reportedly had no money to cover the repair costs, having already sold personal belongings to pay for his children’s school fees. Desperate, he sought help from fellow pastors, who raised the ₦35,000 required for the phone repair.

Escalation Continues

The situation escalated further as the fraudsters demanded an additional ₦300,000 from the pastor, threatening further harm if it wasn’t paid by the next day.

The original agreement between the pastor and the Yahoo boy was to split ₦70 million equally if the transaction succeeded. However, with the foreign client refusing to send the funds, the deal collapsed.

Fallout

The pastor claims there was an understanding that if the deal failed, the Yahoo boy would pay his share. However, the arrangement turned sour, leaving the pastor caught in a web of threats and violence.
